With an epilogue on recent Russian spying, a “page-turner of a memoir” (Publishers Weekly) about an American civilian with a dream, who worked as a double agent with the FBI in the early 2000s to bring down a Russian intelligence agent in New York City. For three nerve-wracking years, from 2005 to 2008, Naveed Jamali spied on America for the Russians, trading thumb drives of sensitive technical data for envelopes of cash, selling out his beloved country across noisy restaurant tables and in quiet parking lots. Or so the Russians believed. In fact, Jamali was a covert double agent working with the FBI. The Cold War wasn’t really over. It had just gone high-tech. “A classic case of American counterespionage from the inside…a never-ending game of cat and mouse” (The Wall Street Journal), How to Catch a Russian Spy is the story of how one young man’s post-college-adventure became a real-life intelligence coup. Incredibly, Jamali had no previous counterespionage experience. Everything he knew about undercover work he’d picked up from TV cop shows and movies, yet he convinced the FBI and the Russians they could trust him. With charm, cunning, and bold naiveté, he matched wits with a veteran Russian military-intelligence officer, out-maneuvering him and his superiors. Along the way, Jamali and his FBI handlers exposed espionage activities at the Russian Mission to the United Nations. Jamali now reveals the full riveting story behind his double-agent adventure—from coded signals on Craigslist to clandestine meetings at Hooter’s to veiled explanations to his worried family. He also brings the story up to date with an epilogue showing how the very same playbook the Russians used on him was used with spectacularly more success around the 2016 election. Cinematic, news-breaking, and “an entertaining and breezy read” (The Washington Post), How to Catch a Russian Spy is an armchair spy fantasy brought to life.

In his latest book, self proclaimed expert on everything, Jim Griffin shares his vast knowledge on the subject of dealing with unique circumstances. Do you know what you can do to increase your chances of making it through an alien abduction? Did you ever wonder what you should do if you meet a ghost, a vampire, or Bigfoot? Do you know what to do if sharks infest your swimming pool? Well Jim does, and in this book he will help guide you through these difficult situations, and many more. This book takes a satirical and informative look at a genre that might seem more suited for late night talk radio, than a best selling book. Nevertheless, this book is destined to become one of the all-time greatest bathroom reads. Although it may not help to cure your constipation, it will certainly help you to pass the time. In addition to being the great tome of knowledge that it is, this book is also perfectly sized to prop up your computer monitor, level off your coffee table, or even squish spiders. But if you decide to actually read this book, you may find that you were not alone in thinking that someone should have come up with these ideas long ago. Jim Griffin was born in Westfield, Massachusetts in 1967, but he grew up in Portland, Oregon. After graduating from Franklin High School in 1985, he spent the next four years serving in the United States Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. This book is the culmination of a lifetime of experiences. Father James Lloyd has been a New York state licensed psychologist for 30 years with a PhD in psychology from NYU. He likes to say "I am half Russian Jew and half Irish but ALL Catholic. My parents were Vaudevillians and I was a classic 'dirty neck kid' from San Juan Hill in West Side Manhattan." As an adult, Lloyd spent time as a missionary in southern Africa, taught theology, was the rector of a seminary, and hosted an interview show on WNBC for 15 years. On his show, he interviewed a tremendous variety of celebrities, including Bill Buckley Jr., Mother Teresa, David Susskind and Jackie Gleason. He worked with divorced and separated Catholics, with widows and widowers. He preached missions in parishes, gave retreats to clergy, taught psychology on the undergraduate level and was the Director of the Graduate Division of Pastoral Counseling at Iona College for 20 years. Since retirement, he runs a weekly group for the Archdiocese of New York to help males who seek inner chastity in the face of their strong same sex attractions. He has seen miracles of God's grace in all aspects of life. This book presents a series of convictions about life and its meaning through the eyes of what he has seen of life. Each writing articulates his beliefs and a deeply personal view of the world as it stands today.
