Summary

“Ekaterina, a meretriz das sombras” é uma ficção intrigante, misteriosa e apaixonante, sobre “O livro da morte de Astragão da Baviera”, mito que deu origem aos preceitos da Ordem dos illuminatis Bávaros, também chamada de Ordem Illuminati, a Ordem dos Illuminati e os Illuminati bávaros. O romance mostra como o poder transforma o homem, qual a distância entre o mago e o bruxo, assim como fez com os Imperadores Herodes e Augustus e lideres como Hitler e Stalin. Ele acontece no ano 12 a.C, onde o pequeno Grubov, desejando sair de sua condição de homem fraco e deformado, aproveitando a condição de serviçal no mosteiro de Uglish, na Antiga Moscow, aprende os rituais da antiga seita da ordem dos Sacerdotes da Luz, Guardiões do livro. Ele rouba o livro e se lança em uma jornada atrás das gêmeas definidas pelas profecias, para o sacrifício, porém se apaixona por Ekaterina, uma das virgens que deveria sacrificar, a qual se torna cega e imortal, pois o ritual não se completa. Sentindo o sacrifício de sua irmã, ela se joga no rio Volga conseguindo escapar de seu algoz. Socorrida por Vikings que descia o rio é torturada e estuprada, sendo ajudada por Simom, o curandeiro xamã, a chegar em terra firme, onde passa a andar sem rumo pelas estradas geladas da Rússia. Atropelada pelos cavalos da carroça de Pavlov, mercador da antiga rota da seda, inicia uma perigosa jornada pelas terras russas, em meio a prostitutas e especiarias. Em uma de suas paradas ela conhece Bashar, um guerreiro huno mestiço, filho de um livreiro judeu, que a ajuda na fuga de Grubov pela Turkia, Syria e Israel chegando até Jerusalém onde recebe o nome de Verônica em um ritual judaico de casamento com Bashar. Como Verônica consegue escapar de Grubov, mas não da maldição. Após o casamento Verônica fica doente tendo seu fluxo de sangue sempre acompanhado de hemorragias durante doze anos. Decidindo procurar um judeu que fazia milagres, vai atrás de uma multidão e toca as veste de Cristo sendo curada imediatamente.
